Young men (most of whom are straight) are selling sex in Tokyo’s gay district, but who’s buying their services? First-time filmmaker Itako takes an unprecedented look at male sex work in Japan. Through a series of deeply personal and often tantalizing interviews with nine urisen (young guys who have sex with men), as well as animation that illustrates the awkward, sweet, and sometimes horrific situations these young sex workers experience with their typically older male clients, this eye-opening documentary exposes and humanizes the rarely seen world of gay sex work in this conservative country.
